Allison James Estates & Homes

Buying and Selling a home might very well be the most expensive purchase our clients make. We are honored that so many people have trusted us to handle their real estate transaction. Those that felt the same way have left comments below to help give others a sense of what working with us is like.

What a ride! John helped us purchase a short-sale that took about a total of 7 months to close. He also helped us sell our house prior to that and it was a difficult home to sell! While we were waiting on the short-sale to close, John continued to show us other possibilities in the event that the short-sale fell through. He never once complained about the amount of time that he was dedicating to us through the process. He was always checking in with the listing agent and trying to determine where we were in the process and what we could do to get it moving more quickly. It was a very frustrating process but John kept us rational and gave us good options to consider when dealing with each road block that came up.
Thank you John for all your hard work and patience.

In my life, I have worked with many realtors. John Leiby is head and shoulders above all the rest. It impresses me that he managed all the "behind the scenes" arrangements and bureaucracy without any hassle to me. He is a very smart man who is polite and respectful with a sense of humor. He cared about me and my situation and clearly communicated every important thing to me, as it happened. I never had to remind him or prod him about anything. He was always one step ahead and on time with everything. He knows the system and navigates it expertly. The side-benefit is that he is someone that I would pick to be my friend.

John,

Just a note to once again express our thanks and appreciation to you. Not just for your work, your expertise, your faithful persistence, but for you. I have a feeling many others would have walked away from this, and yet you persevered, even when taking less commission. We could not have accomplished this without your guidance and ongoing work, and we are very grateful. We will share your name and speak your praises to any and all we know that may need a realtor in your area. Thank you again, and blessings on you and your family in the future!

Peace,

John & Stephanie Ellison

John is amazing. He currently has my house listed as a short sale, and he has been very consistent in marketing my home. He has kept me informed of the process the whole way through. Sometimes I think he is crazy for working with the banks the way he does, but he is very patient and the process has gone according to what John has said it would. I would highly recommend John and all that he has to offer. He came as a referral from my sister and I will be sharing his name with others as well. Thanks John you have been great and it is my honor to recommend you to my friends and family.

John is a nice guy but a horrible realtor. When we first signed on with him he told us we'd have a sign in our yard within a few days, but after a few weeks we began asking what's taking so long? Finally after two weeks, we had a post put up in our yard but no for sale sign! It took another week just to get that. He wrote a horrible description about our home (wasn't even really about our home) that had spelling errors and other weird typos that we for months asked him to change; he never did. It took weeks to get our professional pictures put up and get his aweful point and shoot pictures replaced. He boasted about hitting craigslist hard and advertising then come to find no ads were ever put up, or one would be put up and then never be renewed. He does not believe in open houses nor will he advertise for your open house if you so choose to have one (a complete waste of your time). He is not capable of using craigslist or zillow, anything free and easy is basically too hard for him to manage. He couldn't even figure out how to update the price of our home on Zillow saying it was all done through the RMLS, which after contacting Zillow it is not... and I had to ask Zillow to remove him as our listing agent because he would not. Then after looking into other realtors, we found out he was offering the buyers agent's less than what he had originally told us. Of course, we would never know this and be able to see this, until a realtor brought up that offering less would not be helpful in realtors bringing their clients to our home. After asking him about it, he kind of just sluffed it off leading us to believe his intentions were to take a higher percent for himself without us knowing; very shady. After ending the agreement with him, he told us someone would be by our house to get the lockbox (he gave us a specific day), of course, it wasn't til the week after that anyone bothered to come. Well in the mean time we signed with another realtor but had no key for her lock box, and asked John that if when the lockbox was removed he could give us the key then. But after the lock box was taken off he took the key... now the key to our home is floating around someplace, who knows? He was seriously slow to respond to text messages, emails, etc... and of course, never actually did anything that we asked to be changed/updated. Overall, it seemed like he was trying to do the opposite of selling our house! So seller beware!
