John was raised in Missoula, MT with his 2 siblings, and is now busy with a family of his own here in the Portland area. After graduating high school, John joined the MT National Guard, and moved to Portland to attend Mt. Hood Community College to study Mortuary Sciences. (Ask about some of these funny stories, but people were always “Dying to Meet Him”...even back then. Lol.) Being a business owner, he learned that great customer service was one of the best ways to grow his business. With a strong desire to help his customers find solutions that solve problems, he quickly became the “go-to” man for many of his clients. After conducting some personal real estate transactions of his own, in which he received nothing short of terrible customer service, he realized there was some much needed customer service missing from the real estate market. So with that in mind, he made the transition from working in the apparel business (Columbia Sportswear, Jantzen Swimwear, and Adidas), to real estate and went full steam ahead. The wealth of knowledge he has acquired in the corporate world is proving very helpful to him in real estate. For example, while working in the apparel industry, he noticed how crucial upfront negotiating was for getting top dollar and the highest margin possible at retail. He now applies that knowledge in his real estate career.
